At Historic Floor we move a large selection of plank species both domestic and exotic. All of our Heritage NewHeart wide plank pine flooring material is triple stress-relieved, tongue and grooved, end-matched (T&G on plank ends), machine-milled and contains up to 75% heart content overall. This grade incorporates some quarter (vertical grain) sawn and plain (arching grain) sawn material, character knots with pumpkin streaking in the heart content and is procured from trees between 50 and 80 years in age. All planking comes packaged in eight foot bundles and contains various lengths.
Our Charleston old-growth pine is 90% heart content, with some knots and contains a large degree of vertical grain throughout. This material is procured from trees between 150 and 200 years in age on average under FSC guidelines. Charleston planking is packaged in bundles that can contain planks up to 12 foot in length. All material is kiln dried between 6-9% moisture content.
Our SugarPine™ is a perfect fit when immense length and width planks are desired. We produce this product in 6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18" and 20" in width! This product is softer than other speices of pine, but, is loved for its incredible dimensional stability and having the most "mellow" grain pattern of any pine species in North America.

Wood is a natural flooring material that inherently contains distinctive differences in grain and color configurations. These subtle differences that occur in nature create the beauty, warmth and individuality of each Historic™ floor. The room scenes and photography on this site are intended as a visual guide, as your Historic™ floor may vary in actual color or grain pattern.
