Paint History Finishes
At Historic Floor we can go to great extremes to perfect that period style home. For example, those extremes led us to developing and replicating the age-old and time-worn look of layers of paint stacked and distressed to mimic very old floors. This finishing technique took us 2-3 years to perfect. When we're finished with our paint history floors in your home, people will swear that the floor were salvaged or reclaimed from a 100-200 year old federal or colonial in New England.
We combine a series of steps to stack finish tones, glazes and milk paints (first used by the Romans) to replicated an antique and almost primitive look. For many reasons floors were painted in the old days. Most often, these floors were painted, repainted and painted over and over again to simply hide the fact they were wood at all. At Historic Floor we can perform our paint history finishing process on any specie of wood to give you a floor that characterizes your home and sets you far apart from what most people have ever seen in any home.

Wood is a natural flooring material that inherently contains distinctive differences in grain and color configurations. These subtle differences that occur in nature create the beauty, warmth and individuality of each Historic™ floor. The room scenes and photography on this site are intended as a visual guide, as your Historic™ floor may vary in actual color or grain pattern.
