Stenciled Flooring

Stenciled flooring was very popular during the 1600's-late 1800's for various reasons--most notably the trend in accenting and decorating what the average person considered rather mundane floors. Many early English, French, Irish, Dutch and German immigrants were use to other types of floors such as slate and stone as well as wood. Therefore, since those materials were not yet readily available in the European form in America, people starting faux painting and stenciling boarders, panoramas and medallions to hide, accent and/or dress up plain wooden floors. At Historic, we have many options available. Please contact a HFC representative for more details.

Wood is a natural flooring material that inherently contains distinctive differences in grain and color configurations. These subtle differences that occur in nature create the beauty, warmth and individuality of each Historic™ floor. The room scenes and photography on this site are intended as a visual guide, as your Historic™ floor may vary in actual color or grain pattern.
